Rock On!! Live Show Claims New Delhi

The cast of Rock On!! claim to have performed to a crowd of 12,000 people in a New Delhi mall on Saturday. Lets see how many things are wrong with this statement.

First up - the ‘performance’. Farhan Akhtar was the only one who performed anything. He crooned away like a bullfrog in the summer while the rest of them just pranced around on stage, pretending to play. So much for Arjun’s guitar hero dreams and Luke’s very obvious need to be Ray Manzarek of The Doors. Second - the crowd. Do you really want us to believe that not 1, not 2 but 12,000 people came to see you guys make three-chord songs look like a Bach suite? As much as I trust audiences world over to be capable of wasting their time in never before imagined ways, this is a little too much. And finally - a mall. Of all the places to hold a gig in Delhi, you chose a mall. I know why. It’s the only way to ensure that people will be there to witness this charade. They must have been in the middle of their weekend shopping when you ambushed them with this music. It was probably too loud for anyone to do anything but stand there and watch…

Anyway, the cast is really fired up after ‘feeling like a real rock band’, and will be working hard at their respective instruments. So the next time this tragedy befalls us, lets hope they have the decency to play live.
