 Tahaan: Reviewed
The movie takes you through scenic Kashmir, in the midst of cross border terrorism and unlikely acquaintances. Tahaan (Purav), lives with his mother (Sarika), sister (Sana Shaikh) and grandfather (Victor Banerjee). His father has been missing for sometime, and the family is under debt. Tahaan, eager to take responsibility as the man of the house, wishes to work and make a living. His journey continues, as he takes up a mission to bring his donkey back from its buyers. His encounter with the terrorists and his love for Birbal has also been beautifully portrayed.

The whole film has been shot in Kashmir and thanks to ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan, the audience is left spellbound with enchanting visuals! The movie is pretty fast paced and does grip the audience, as they become eager to know what’s coming their way.

The performances in the film are very powerful. Sivan’s characterisation of actor’s like Anupam Kher, Sarika, Rahul Khanna, and Rahul Bose is truly remarkable. The whole film though, is owned by Purav Bhandare and his extremely engrossing performance as Tahaan.

The music by Taufiq Quershi blended perfectly with the tempo of the movie. And Adnan Sami’s Jee lo adds that extra something to the soundtrack.

Simple story, excellent visuals, and brilliant performances is the recipe for Tahaan. Do watch it in the theatres and take your kids along… they’ll love it!
