No more ‘Patel’

Ameesha Patel has followed in Govinda’s steps and dropped her last name. From now on, she is just ‘Ameesha’. The reason for doing something as ridiculous as this can only be one of two things. One, that Ameesha’s a new woman who doesnt bank on family for anything and lets her talent take her along the path of cinematic glory or two, that after masterpieces like Heyy Baby and Honeymoon Travels Ltd., there was no where else to turn.

I’m gonna go with number two.

This new development was first discovered at the screening of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, where her name appeared as ‘Ameesha’ in the credits. Her family doesn’t seem to know or care about it but Kunal Kohli claims that it’s how she wanted her name shown and that its probably got something to do with numerology. But why stop there, i think she should drop her whole name and come up with something completely new, a catchy screen name that says everything about her like Big Mama, Huss-in-boots or Seabiscuit.
