Is Nazar Se Kaun Bachega?

Is Nazar Se Kaun Bachega?Khatron ke Khiladi‘ may have been the second season of Fear Factor but you have to admit, Akshay Kumar did a way better job of hosting it than Mukul Dev did, and that’s what made it better. Let’s forget the fact that Akshay has a bevvy of beauties as his contestants.

Colors seems to be taking business away from Sony Entertainment Television (who hosted the first season of both, Fear Factor and Bigg Boss). But now all the shows are being done with much greater panache. Brace yourselves people, Bigg Boss is back and it’s bigger and badder than ever. Season 2 of Bigg Boss is being hosted by none other than UK’s Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty who I’m sure will do more justice to the role than last seasons Arshad Warsi.

This season, the episodes will be aired daily. The 14 contestants will include seven ‘newsmakers’ and seven ‘commoners‘. No celebrities. Now why would I want to watch a show with no celebrities seven days a week? If it’s just random common people, it’s as good as regular life innit?

Of course the rules will be the same. No contact with the outside world and no forms of entertainment (except what they provide to each other). Shilpa will obviously serve as a mentor and as she put it at the press meet, it may be entertainment for us to watch people go crazy with no contact with the outside world but only she knows what it’s really like to experience that void.

75 lakhs is a lot of moolah but I’m not not sure I could survive the Bigg Boss house for it. But it might be fun to send in one of my dushmans. While it seems like good timepass, I’m sure the inmates are going out of their mind. Ask Shilpa who she’d like to send to the Bigg Boss and she’s blank. Our Suggestions: the gay guy designer/choreographer Andy of Get Gorgeous 4 fame, Aman Verma of the Harpic ads fame and Jennifer Mayani the flash your thong/boobs to the world chick.

The 14 strangers will be put up in Amby Valley, Lonavla. That doesn’t sound like roughing it out, but whatever. We’ll get to watch these characters daily, their confessions, challenges to earn grocery money, etc. What would a reality show be without some kind of twist? This twist is yet to be announced, and so are the contestants. That basically means the channel folks themselves don’t know who they are yet! The only thing I’m looking forward is the 12.30 AM live feed. You’d never believe the things some people get up to at that hour. I’ll bet Shilpa does yoga. I know she keeps saying she’s genetically blessed but I have my doubts…
