Befriend in need…

So if there was ever to be any award for ‘Uncle of the Year’, without a doubt the winner would be Aamir Khan. Short of selling his soul to the Devil, he has done pretty much everything to get his nephew, Imraan the kind of promotion most seasoned actors only dream of receiving.

The latest of-course being the premiere that he is hosting for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Apprently Aamir is tring hard to mend burnt bridges by inviting a whole host of people to this party. First on the list of ex-friends who he called was Ram Gopal Varma, with whom he had major problems during the making of Rangeela. Post the release of Rangeela, Aamir and R.G.V had a print cat-fight (each acting more childish than the other). Second up was Akshaye Khanna. Now no-one is quite sure of what went wrong here, the two were so tight during the filming of Dil Chahta Hai and then suddenly we hear that there is a re-enactment of the cold war. Some think it had something to do with Taare Zameen Par.

Anyway that’s not the point I am trying to make. It makes you wonder doesn’t it, why all of a sudden such a hard attempt to rekindle past friendships.For those of you who think it’s because Aamir is suddenly in a forgiving mood, wake up and smell the coffee. The only reason I can think of is that Aamir does not want any bad blood that he might share with someone to come in the way of Imran’s career. So to make sure nephew’s way is spic and span and that his movie is not shunned but the big bosses of Bollywood, Aamir Uncle is going all the way!!!
