Bollywood Superheroes on the rise!

For all its popularity, Bollywood was never known for its originality. Let’s just say the people of B-Town love getting ‘inspired’ by International movies. In fact, if you really want to know what the story of the next big movie is- just go to the producer’s neighborhood DVD store and ask what he’s been hiring.
So, what’s the latest fad to hit the screens? Superhero movies.
Rakesh Roshan started it with his Indian rehash of all Hollywood superhero flicks- Krissh. It had an excellent run at the box office and was an innovative way to have a sequel to Koi Mil Gaya( inspired by Spielberg’s ET).
Hip hopper Abhishek Bachchan will be starring as a true blue desi superhero in Goldie Behl’s next venture Drona. The movie, scheduled to be releases in July-August, has a completely Indian storyline with Indian settings. With a bomb being spent on SFX. This one looks promising. But then again so did RGV’s Aag, so let’s see…
The latest project to be announced Percept Picture Company’s as yet untitled movie. This one will star the ex-Mr. Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda. What’s cool about this flick is that it has not one but two ‘inspirations’ – James Bond and Hancock. Hahahaaha…Let’s see them pulling THAT off!
