Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is exactly what it is made out to be- a carefree, breezy, zingy, new age romantic flick. It takes nothing out of you and gives nothing to you to think about. It’s entertaining though. Barrels of laughs, emotions galore and all that jazz…like Dil Chahta Hai without all the philosophy. It tells us the story of Jai(Imraan) and Aditi(Genelia). They’re the best of buddies, hang out in the same group with Rotlu(Karan), Bombs(Alshika), Jiggy(Nirav) and Shaleen(Sugandha). These guys will take you remind you of your own time at campus. Now, Jai and Aditi are made for each other. Their friends know that, their folks know that, heck even the neighbourhood bhelpuriwala knows that!!! But the two remain blissfully ignorant of this fact. This idea drives the movie. What really stands out is the overall young feel of the movie. The Youth will love it, the oldies will also like it ‘coz it’d remind them of younger days. The music is awesome. Abbas Tyrewala has done some excellent directing. The only qualm I had was with parts of the second half which dragged along a bit. Watch this movie to bring some sun into a drab rainy day !!!
Imraan Khan couldn’t have chosen a better launch pad for his acting career. Mamu jaan Aamir has given him the easiest and safest movie to show his talent off to producers and directors in B-Town. The female lead, Genelia too has found herself an excellent relaunch in this breezy flick.
