Genelia on the rise..

After the success of Mere Baap Pehle Aap, upcoming actress Genelia D’souza is in high spirits. The Anglo-Indian girl who was relatively unknown in Bollywood has done well to break into the circuit without the help of family influence or contacts in the industry.

She’s already had a string of hits in Tamil and Telegu but fate has led her to Bombay to pursue her career further. We know she has talent but the only worry is that of her being typecast as the quintessential girl-next door, which her looks suit perfectly. When asked about this, she replied that she’s in no hurry to do anything radical and is happy starting off with such roles.

She feels that each character is different from the next in some or the other way and that’s enough to keep her interested. With Jaane Tu Jaane Na wrapped up, Genelia is currently shooting for It’s My Life in which she stars opposite Harman Baweja and has also signed up for a multi-starrer called Life Partner with Ge. The England-born actress has even been complimented but Aamir Khan who said that she reminds him of Juhi Chawla. The good thing is that she hasn’t let this get to her head. WIth so much going for her, greater success on the big stage of Bollywood is only a matter of time.
