Is Himesh the new Emraan on the block?

Just a bit away from the nasal twang and making atrocious movies, Himesh Reshammiya is trying his best to create his niche into the acting world of the film industry. After his so called ’sarson ka saaga’ with his cap and hair weaving process, he is out there cap-less making his presence felt. From the remake of Karz, where Himesh bhai plays Rishi Kapoor’s role to a recently-talked-about remake of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi, Himesh is on a lead roll (pun intended).

This would be the 2^nd project that Bhatts will be working with Himesh, where he is acting in these movies, the first being Kajra Re. First it was the spot-boy-turned-AD Emraan who turned a new leaf by getting his foot into the business, now it’s the very own beloved of the rickshaw-walas, Himesh. Bhatts have found a new liking to him(esh) and believe that ‘he is a fine actor’. The 1991 Aamir Khan – Pooja Bhatt starrer Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi was a huge success, and the Bhatts are determined to repeat history with Himesh. It’s still too early to say more about the film, as it still needs to be scripted. Apparently, it was Himesh’s suggestion to the Bhatts to remake this film and also showed his interest in being a part of it! Can you believe that!

In case you’ve forgotten about his movie, it’s the one in which Pooja Bhatt runs away from home and has to rely on Aamir, a stranger she meets on a bus to look after her and ensure her safety. I wonder how many years of brainstorming it took to write this wonder of a script. Anyway, it seems like we’re going to see it again, with a few things changed.

Shagufta Rafique(Woh Lamhe,Dhoka and Aawarapan) will be writing the film. He says that it’s going to be a very challenging job for him. Yeah right!How tough is it to write a movie that’s already made ? And its going to be none other than Pooja Bhatt who’ll be in charge of directing it and setting an example for budding directors everywhere. Make one hit movie, write a whole bunch of bad movies…don’t feel shy now, just put all the nonsense you can think of on the big screen and then when you run out of steam and funds, remake the first one.
