Bummer 2008

Summer 2007 – Sikander Kher’s second attempt after the dud that was Woodstock Villa, premiered at Fun Republic, Mumbai last night. From the rushes it seems the movie hs a very ‘Rang De Basanti’ feel to it. Haven’t seen it yet so I can’t really comment on how the movie is.
The same night, Mere Baap Pehle Aap premiered at PVR Cinemas. This one is a Priyadrashan remake of a Malayalam movie (which was also made by him).
Both events were pretty poorly attended. Maybe it’s the rains…Maybe the yhad other things or maybe they just don’t give a s#^t ! But the fact is no one turned up.
The folk who were part of the two flicks did show up though. There was Sikander Kher, Yuvika Choudary, Sachin Khedekar, Arjan Bawa, Akshaye Khanna and Priyadarshan. Also the three crackpots from Haal-E-Dil showed up hoping for some free publicity.
But the chicks who truly stole the show were the leading ladies of the two movies- Gul and Genelia.
Gul Panag looked etherally cute in a blue tube dress. Genelia stole the show at PVR with her pretty li’l smile.
Hopefully next week the premieres wont be so pheeka !
