Later this year, you will see Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif on screen once again in Vipul Shah’s ‘Singh is King’. The film directed by Annes Bazmee and is the same hit ‘Welcome’ team.
Our Punjabi munda plays a sardar in the film and that is its USP. Recently according to reports, Akshay and Vipul wanted everything in the movie to be so perfect that while shooting in Australia, to ensure that the pagdi was tied properly, they approached the head of the Sikh community in Melbourne to help them.
Apparently the Sikhs are very particular about their pagdis. In fact wherever they went; a prominent member of the Sikh community there came on the sets to have a look. The places included Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide
It didn’t stop there. When they came back to India, they organized a rough cut of the movie for prominent members of the Sikh community, like Dr Gurbachan Singh from the University of Mumbai, S. Kulwant Singh from Sri Guru Singh Sabha, S. Parbinder Singh from Sikh Brotherhood and Swaranjeet Singh from Sikh Media Watch, who approved the film and gave it a green signal.
