Deepika-Ranbir caught kissing!!

Ok so now i’m convinced the IIFA awards are going to be crap. Look at the lenghts to which Star Plus has gone to get publicity. They have now invented a video of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor supposedly kissing and hugging at Bangkok airport. Curiousity got the better of me and I checked out the video which is the biggest dissappointment ever. First of all you can barely see their faces…….second of all Who cares?!?. Everybody hugs at an airport. I didn’t see no kissing not even air kissing.

Just 5 days to go till the IIFA awards are finally screened to us mere mortals. Let’s take a look back at all the gossip that surrounded this years awards in Bangkok.

First we have the Saif-Kareena saga. Did he miss her performance did he see it..no one will ever know. Saif Ali Khan supposedly flew in all the way from London to spend time with his lady love only to miss her stage performance. Since he had to catch a flight back to London. But the story doesn’t end there………his flight was delayed so obviously he ran back to the IIFA awards ceremony hall just in time to see Kareena accept her award. True filmi style. Well that’s one more reason we can avoid watching the awards we already know Kareena bagged one.

Second the highlight of the show Akshay Kumar’s ‘Singh is Kinng‘ performance. Little do people know the amount of drama that went on backstage before the actual performance. Katrina Kaif who was scheduled to perform along with him got cold feet at the last moment and Akki was unavailable for reassurance so in the end she performaed a track from ‘Race‘ and he ruled the ‘Singh is Kinng‘ performance. Once again we already know the performances do we really have to watch the actual awards now??

Third is my most favorite rumor of all. The secret 3 am rendezvous the Bachchans organised to bridge the gap between themselves and the rest of the bollywood fraternity. They specifically invited Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor you know to make amends for the past (Vivek and Ash used to date and Karisma and Abhishek were actually engaged at somepoint.)

Fourth is Fardeen Khan and his wild ways. Yup we haven’t really heard much of his bad behaviour since he got married but well here is in in Bangkok smoking up and apparently he also beat up Sanjay Guptas nephew Gotti (Gautam Kohli). I can’t really blame him with a name like ‘Gotti’ that guy’s just asking for an ass whooping.

And last but not least……..Harman Baweja hurt his leg. Just before his first ever live stage performance he hurt his leg. Thanks to some magic spray he was able to pull off the dancing but now he’s going to need at least 4 weeks recovery time.

Personally I think this years IIFA awards have been way too publicized. Right from the Bachchans ruling the show to every stupid insignificant detail including a lenghty discussion over why all the women chose to wear gowns over saris. They’ve been overdone but come Sunday I can gaurantee that along with the rest of the country I will be glued to the TV set.
