Mission Istanbul a whole lot of surprises!!

From the promos of Mission Istanbul and all the sneak previews we’ve recieved Mission Istanbul was shaping up to be another run of the mill action spy movie complete with Turkish belly dancers. But now closer to release it has been revealed that the movie is in fact a tale of four journalists at the war fore front of course their characters had to be glamourised to make them more believable.(yeah right!)
Mission Istanbul a whole lot of surprises!!
Journalist-bravery stories are not as popular as formula romances or action flicks are in Bollywood but they’re soon getting there and alot of the credit goes to ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ director Apoorva Lakhia.

His theme for ‘Mission Istanbul’ ( the story of journo Daniel Pearl) is no conincidence.Infact, his obsession with journo stories are evident in his other works as well.

I think its brilliant that we have directors moving away from the stereotypical dramas (or should I say Melodramas) and making movies on something worth thinking about. There’s always that catch, though, that no matter how far we stray from our roots we have to eventually land up where we began and in Bolly’s case, with an item number!

Tanyeli’s going to be drawing the masses to the movies all because of her outfit and if the movie’s anything like what it promises to be, the rest of the audience will automatically flock. I must say, Apoorva’s played it smart and once again, I believe he’s made himelf a killing!
